SPANISH FOOD & BEVERAGE OPEN DAY AUSTRALIA 2025

ICEX/Foods and Wines from Spain, through the Economic and Trade Office of Spain in Sidney, and Alimentos de España as part as Spain Food Nation campaign, are hosting the "Spanish Food & Beverage Open Day Australia 2025: A Journey through the flavours of Spain".

Spanish gastronomy is recognised worldwide as one of the references of the Mediterranean diet. This means that our pantry is already well-known and present in Australia, with quality restaurants and stores. The constant growth in the demand for food and beverages from Spain has placed Spanish producers as leaders among the suppliers of high-quality products, such as wine, top-quality meats, cheese, fish, gourmet preserves or extra virgin olive oil, among others. 

The demanding Australian consumer is looking for new, high-quality products that are interesting, unknown, and surprising. Additionally, an increasing number of Australians are traveling to Spain and returning with a desire to find gastronomic experiences that match the authentic offerings they enjoyed abroad.

Building on the success of the inaugural edition, the Open Day aims to become the leading event in Australia for promoting Spanish gastronomy. It will serve as a gathering point for Australian importers who currently feature Spanish products in their catalogues (as exhibitors) and experts in the industry, with purchasing capacity or influence (as guests), including restaurants, sommeliers, specialised retailers and wholesalers, agents, and press.

To further support industry professionals, the event is designed as an educational initiative, providing them with the necessary knowledge to accurately inform the final consumer. Exhibitors of Spanish food, wines, and other beverages will have the opportunity to showcase their products, complemented by tastings, seminars, and masterclasses focused on Spanish specialties. This combination creates a comprehensive experience that highlights the quality and diversity of Spain’s gastronomic culture.

This event will take place on the 30th of June (Monday), in Sydney, with the venue to be confirmed.

Participation is open exclusively to Australian companies. Spanish companies can take part through their local importer, distributor, or legally established subsidiary.
